Weighed my empty truck today, and boy was I surprised!

I weighed my truck today at a local truck stop. I could not believe it weighs 9220 lbs empty!

This is with a full tank of diesel and me standing on the front left tire, where I had to stand to press the call button at the scale.

Yeah! With a 9800 GVWR, I can only carry 600 lbs in the bed!

wow that is surprising, I would of guessed in the high 7k range. I guess the 08s are quite a bit heavier then the older trucks.

and you took off the factory one that weighed what 40-50lbs?

ETA how much was the cost for the weigh in? Ive always wanted to weigh my truck but not sure how much it costs

Yeah...the bumper, tool box with goodies, aftermarket tires (maybe?) added some.

My 'lightweight' came in at 7140 lbs (4240 (f) and 2900 (r)). That was with a half tank of gas and 200 lbs of me.

Possibly...shipping weight was 425 lb, but that included a pallet and a huge box.

I think the 6.4 weighs over 1100lbs alone. It's supposed to be the heaviest of the Powerstroke engines.

I share your concern.

Door tag says 6000 GVWR. Truck empty weighs 5640. I can officially throw A dirtbike in the back and some gear.

#360 payload for a half ton truck, DOT's gonna have a hayday with me.
