they said that i should have let them look at it before the dealer fixed it. i said, ok, but do you guys advertise troubleshooting diesel problems... she said no, i said then what could you have saw that you would have educatedly diagnosed? she said we have a 26 yr master tech and .. i said do you advertise troubleshooting.. she said no but.. i said then why would i think you could troubleshoot? she was silent and then said you should have gave us the chance to look. i said how about the guy who fixed it calls you and tells you what he saw and why he diagnosed it as the filter? she agreed, now i am trying to get him to call but as the service writer told me... if he is on the phone, he isn't making money...

still working this..

I would have been a *** and said, yeah your 26 year master tech can not do a simple task as in change the oil! You have the guys number? If so try to ask him without going through the service writer. If he is a good guy he will be more than happy to take the 10 mins and tell her what the deal was/is. Just tell the lady at the shop that screwed you over he is calling, has 10 mins to talk. Ask what you need to ask and let the man go back to making a living.

Maybe this a stupid question and maybe it isn't. Why is a 26yr master tech working at a splash and dash lube joint?
