after about 90% of my friends owning 6.0s and one working at ford and all of them constantly making jokes about how un reliable there trucks are and constantly cracking jokes about how stuff is breaking on them and stuff going wrong, they all say the same thing "love the truck hate the engine" ...i concidered a 6.0 not saying i hate the engine just making sure people looking at them have a heads up on the common problems and how much repairs are....i picked up a 7.3 cuz i got a good deal on it/my dad has one with over 300thousand km and only thing hes ever replaced was 1 injector and a water pump/regular maitnence and my uncles got one that tows his big trailer regularly with over 300 thousand km to and has never had ne issues either.. i was also pissed off with looking at probably half a dozen to a dozen 6.0s with some sort of issue or really high kms i wanted a truck and was tired of wasting my time driving around the lower mainland. and there isnt alot of 6.0 hate in here its the same thing every forum u go to, just people bringing up common issues of the engine

 

The 7.3 is a workhorse. Feed it and change the oil, it'll run forever.
The 6.0 is sophisticated and was rushed, naturally things fail when designed poorly.
The 6.4 is sophisticated refined and will break your neck.
