I'm shopping around and found a nice 08 SD power stroke with 90k FX4 Leather ect ect.... Anyone have advice on the 08 diesel?

 

Ive been reading up on powerstrokenation.com cause Im looking at getting one in a couple years and want to have a general idea of the trucks

 

Check to see if it's a job 1. If so try to stay away from it since it's almost out of warranty. Job 1 trucks were built in 07. Some have had issues with them, but most who have had issues already have all the bugs fixed through warranty. I researched a lot on these trucks before I purchased a 6.4. The only major issue with them is the fuel millege which can be fixed, but voids warranty.

Go to powerstrokenation.com to research all you need to know about them. Make sure to search the threads first b/c there are a lot of guys who asked the same thing you want to know.

 

I had a job 1 2008. great truck very powerful (12.81@103) 550-600awhp 1200 ft lb torque with just a dpf delete, cold air intake and tune. If you have any question about tuners I had tunes from Innovative Diesel Performance, KEM performance and H&S performance. Over the first 64 fillups I average 14.5 MPG and that was tuned. I went through two trannies, the first under warranty the second was $4500 out of pocket My high pressure fuel pump also went out and that was replaced under warranty. One time the main electrical junction box fried and I had to have that replaced. Other than those it was a pretty solid truck since I daily drove it running on the tune that I ran 12.81 with. I was going to go with a built transmission but I decided to get an '11 F150 instead. good luck with your search

Look at the date it was built. If you remeber the 08's came out in mid 07 so if it was built in early 07 it's a job 1. There post on powerstrokenation saying exactly what the build dates are/
