They can't get any more Super than this
I felt like giving my "other" DD some spotlight recognition. She's a 2006 Ford F-550 with the 6.0L Powerstroke loaded to the hilt for my local Volunteer Fire Department. She rolled off the assy line from Ford with a complete cab and then went to E-ONE for apparatus outfitting.
Ramsey winch. Awesome for stabilizing rolled vehicles or pulling silly Dodge ambulances out of dirt roads.
Complete with battery master switch, voltage monitoring system, two Motorola CDM1250 VHF radios, 3x SCBA-equipped seats, custom center console, Whelen siren, light switch panel, massive overhead lighting, etc etc.
Fire tools
3-cylinder diesel pump that runs off the trucks main fuel tank. 250 gallon water supply on the rear with a 1.75" booster reel and then a 2.5" supply line on the top.
Heavy equipment: JAWS of Life, with chainsaw and other useful tools
The horse itself. I'm sure it looks like a regular engine, but this thing is ABUSED. It sits all day and waits and waits and waits. We come in, crank it up, and 30 seconds later, shes at full boost screaming to calls. When we get there it idles, and idles, and idles. A casual ride back to the station and then it sits some more. 18,XXX miles and 832 engine hours.
Our county recently purchased 3x Dodge chassis to be outfitted as ambulances. One of them only has 4,500 miles and the transmission has already gone. They had to send it BACK to the dealership in Dallas where they bought it from to get it repaired. Built Ford tough.
