Really? You had all that weight in sheet rock hanging out the back and thought the tailgate would be okay?

What aren't you telling us. I never had problems with my Superduties. Did someone drop the bundle? Did you hit a bump? I just had a full barrel of oil on my tailgate (2010 F150) and had no issues. That's 700 pounds with my fat $&@.

Looks like someone dropped it on the tailgate cause the cables are still intact and don't look streched.

Hardy siding...made with cement and 12ft long. My guess is driving and bouncing on the road. That stuff is heavier than drywall per square foot.

Next time throw some 2x10's under it and you will be good to go.

Bummer about the tail gate, at least you don't have to worry about some body stealing it now.

I agree. If that stuff got to bouncing up and down I could see this happening.

At least the tailgate didn't fall off - like it would have with a Tundra!

Some things just can't be built tuff-enuff for some people's kids! Good thing you didn't load it on a trailer. We've seen what you do when towing. LOL

Winner winner. About 2400lbs of Hardy Board. I knew the truck could take the weight, didn't think about the tailgate. :o Nothing was dropped, every piece was loaded by hand. Kept it easy on the drive home too.

And Jim you smart ***, all of this was for my dad... Next time, I'm borrowing the trailer I always use. And yeah, I'm very surprised the cables didn't break. They broke on my dad's Dakota when somebody dropped the tailgate too fast.

I'm out shopping tailgates now. Probably gonna NEED to go with an 08+ tailgate, cause all of the older ones are beat to hell.
