Factory Head Unit
Hey just bought a used 2006 F250 Harley Davidson, wondering if anyone can tell me if these trucks have a headphone jack to go with the AUX option on the deck like the Dodges did of that era? I only want to plug the headphone in and am not looking for Ipod or sirius hookups.
Do I need the convertor to do this or is this tucked away in the truck?
Thanks
PS I did use the search option and all anyone talks about is sirius and Ipod junkware, I just want to use the AUX inline from a headphone jack. Also it is the indash 6pack.

Ford didn't offer the headphone jack until 2008 models for the Supeduty.
however, you can get the radio out of a 2007+ F-150/Expedition/Mustang and a few other models and they will have that plug on the back.
Then the trick is finding the 3.5mm plug itself to connect to a 2007+ radio. I've been looking myself trying to find one and haven't had any luck. I've been thinking about just buying the headphone jack from Radioshack and buying the radio harness plug from Ford. A few minutes of soldering and I'd be done

EDIT:
Not to mention, getting a 2007+ F-150 radio and you can upgrade. I've currently got a 6 disc changer, but the F-150 was 6 disc + MP3 capable.
And, the F-150 radio operates differently with the steering wheel controls. My current F-250 Lariat radio scans stations when I hit "next" on the wheel. The F-150 radio skips to the next favorite station programmed.
Little changes I know, but it's enough that I miss them from my 2006 F-150 and was annoyed to find them different on the F-250

below are pics from the radio I took out of my 2008 Expy. I traded it for a Alpine DVD player...wish I still had this radio.
you can see the big plug, medium plug and then the smallest one.
edit:
you can see the big plug, medium plug and then the smallest one.
Big plug is the main harness with power/speakers
Middle plug is the subwoofer
Small plug is the 3.5mm aux input (what you are looking for)

edit:
once you have the correct radio, you also need the 3.5mm jack. Here is the one my Expy (dash infront of shifter) has. You'll need something similar for your Harley. The 07+ F-150 is ontop of the dash, the 07+ Expy is like pictured below. The 07+ Mustang looks like the Expy one, but is hidden inside the center console.
