1995 f350 pros/ cons
I have been looking for an older pickup like this but no idea of the problems I might face.
What are some of the common problems with this year model?
Its a 1995 f350 crew cab 95000 miles, not sure diesel or not. I found it in local classifieds. So what if it were a diesel or big block?

The gas and diesel F350's are expensive to fix just because the parts are heavier and more substantial (brakes, U-Joint, axle parts). The diesel is going to cost more to maintain because it takes 4 gallons of oil to do an oil change instead of 5-7 quarts for a gasser. If it's a diesel the 7.3 liked to eat crank position sensors but they are pretty easy to change and don't cost much ($10-15 if I remember correctly). If it's a gasser you will have one of 3 or 4 engines in it 300 I6, 5.0 V8(not sure on this one), 5.8 V8, or the 7.5 460 V8 all of which are pretty dependable and bullet proof. Other than that you are going to encounter the same problems that you will on any 16 year old vehicle.

Everything he said minus the 5.0
It was a f150 and car motor.. more car motor than anything.
If it's a diesel and it has been taken care of then it will be good. A few small upgrades and it will be reliable to god knows how long.
Same for the big block, except for gas mileage. A 460 will suck gas like no body's business when towing. Stock for stock it will probably out run a 7.3, but not if you give the 7.3 some love.
Only other thing is the transmission. The automatics are expensive and complicated to rebuild, but if it was taken care of and at less than 100k you should be fine.
Good luck

Send me the number so I can go pick it up, you don't want that truck...
No 300 in '95.
'95+ had the updated E4OD and should be good to go with only 95k. First gen 7.3L's with that low mileage rock. 460's are gas suckers, but will pull the world around backwords. Dana 60 front end being a 1ton equals the best axle possible.
