gas or diesel?

I'm lookin at buying a new F250 as a grad present to my self at the end of this year, or the middle of next, I wanna start gathering all the information I can.

Main questions are:

1) If I'm going to mud ride in it is it better to get a gas burner or a Diesel?
the reason i ask is ive seen diesel trucks that have trouble going over speed bumps.
2) Is the F250 to heavy for the clay and the sand around here where I live?

You want a brand new $60k truck for mudding??? Can you send me some of that money? lol. I would think the extra weight of a diesel would be a hindrance in the sand and clay

haha I live in Mississippi what else is there to do ?

its only 50,000 around here, i can actually get it cheaper than that, and i may even buy a "Repo" from the bank,

had a friend buy a repo and he only had to pay what was owed which was only 24,000

My truck weighs 8200lbs with full tank of fuel, everything I carry in the truck, and me in the seat every one that I know that goes mudding doesn't have anything big enough to yank my truck out if I bury it. Diesel engines and water don't get along well so if you suck water into the intake and it get's into the cylinders you've just blown up a $10,000 motor plus if you run one out of fuel they are no where near as forgiving as a gas motor is. These trucks cost way to much to fix to take mudding they are meant to tow heavy, work hard, and not be much more than pavement queens. If you want to go mudding go buy a Super Duty, car hauler, and a cheap beat up POS with huge tires on it to beat the snot out of and but not a new/almost new Super Duty.

Let me know what your going to school for to come out making 250k a year, lol. Congrats either way. One thing with todays economy dont start cashing checks yet that you dont have. Schools and programs make a lot of promises and reality is a different thing. Either way I would think gas is better in the mud, not as heavy and you get instant power quicker. Like others have said I wouldnt be buying a 50-60k to go mud pounding in.

IM planing on being a CRNA(Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, which is an advanced practice nurse that puts patients to sleep for surgery) they make 250,000 a year starting out and then go up to about 400,000 a year after that (5-10 years later)

Somebody is blowing smoke up your ***. CRNA's make from 82k to 172k a year.

http://www.payscale.com/research/US/..._(CRNA)/Salary

Betcha that in your location, you will start off at the bottom end of that, if you can even get hired full-time.
