Hey guys, I have a 99 F150 with 5.4 with 114k miles, supercab 6.5' bed. I need/want a heavier duty truck because I don't like the fact that with 6-800lbs in the bed, the rear sits lower than the front. I haul stuff for work, and like the bigger/heavier truck.

The truck that is offered to me for trade:
1999 F250
6.8L V10 auto trans 168k miles
Supercab, 6.5' bed

My truck unloaded around town gets 12mpg, and just took it on a trip on the freeway, and I got 14mpg. I've read that the V10 gets the same pretty much, but with more power/torque.

If you guys were in my shoes, would you take the trade?

 

The only concern i would have is with the extra 50,000 miles on e v10, though not an issue if it was taken care of...

I have had two v10s and the mpg is right on. Not only will you had a lot more stability with a 3/4 ton truck for hauling, you will love the power of the v10.

I have the 5.4 in my f250, and i wish i had looked for anotjer v10. The mpg i get is just a tad better than the v10.....

Assuming the new one is in decent shape, i would sure jump at it....sounds like a more than fair deal
