I found an 07 f250 4x4 powerstroke that Im thinking about trading my truck for it has 139000 miles on it ext cab long bed xlt. My truck is an 02 f150 4x4 xlt with 153000, Provided the truck is in good condition would the trade be worth my time, Ive always wanted a 6.0 diesel.

 

Are you prepared to throw the $$$ into the 6.0 to make it reliable?

 

yep going to have to get those hands dirty. Will have to pull cab to service somethings also. It's not IF you will have to do it, it's WHEN you will have to do it.

 

i bought my '04 6.0 a little over a year ago and ive been very happy with it! bought it with 125,000 miles, now has 140,300 miles, and will probably be at 150K my the end of the year... only thing ive had to do was replace the oil cooler, thermostat, and coolant flush. and had my guy weld up the egr cooler while he was in there. the 07 is the best year for the 6.0 so it should be fairly reliable with regular coolant flush, filters, replace the oil cooler, and bulletproof egr cooler for your state.

head studs aren't necessary but a good idea especially if you do alot of heavy towing. my truck runs perfect, but for the extra piece of mind i am doing head studs anyways as i will be doing alot of heavy towing with my truck over the next 6-8 months.
