Why? I hope they never do lol. I want a solid axle option in the 150

I'll second that...

I agree. Most never run off road or need the solid front axle anyway. What they should do is make the F250 have IFS and let the F350 keep the solid front axle. That way those that buy them for towing their RV's etc and never go off road will have the smoother ride and no death wobble.

I don't need my truck to stand up to constant abuse in the oil fields or crawling over rocks. I want a nice comfortable ride towing my fifth wheel and 4x4 ability for minor off-roading and winter weather duty. SFA is completely wasted on me.

My thoughts exactly!

Question here....

Isn't a solid axle less maintenance compared to IFS?

Nope, at least not in my experience. There have been plenty of folks with tie rod issues on the SFA Super Duty.

That was the thinking in the previous body style with the 250s having the Dana 50 TTB, and the 350s having a solid 60. Their resale prices reflect that for sure.

Please don't compare the TTB with today's IFS. Heck, my SFA F250 rides better than any TTB F150 my dad had when I was younger.

I understand the motivation for wanting the IFS, but if Ford ever did offer IFS on the Super Duties, that's would be the only offering across the board, like the GMs. It's (I assume) simply too expensive to offer both, or there's some other reason for it.

I don't think it would be too difficult or expensive, really. I mean, the SFA is pretty simple, and you wouldn't really have to do much with it. Just engineer a solid IFS system (which, if rumor is correct, was done back around '05-'08 time frame) and design similar mounting points. IFS on the F250 and SFA on the F350 sounds like a good thing to me. Seriously, most Super Duty buyers don't need the SFA and would be perfectly happy (if not happier) with IFS. Mount an EcoBoost V8 under the hood and I'm in!

Both good points. I'd probably be fine with that, but I know some folks with 450s that would like IFS too. I really think it would be nice to have the option for both, but then it would **** me off if I was shopping used and I found the perfect truck, but it had IFS . . .

Then it WOULD be the perfect truck, so no need to be pissed!

Honestly, I think the Super Duty rides pretty good for what it is - a very capable, big a$$ truck! However, I think IFS is just what it needs to put it over the top and take away some of the "bulk" that comes with driving it.
