Question f150 to f250 ugrade...01 or 02?

I posted this in the F250 forum, but there is less traffic there. So I thought I might cover my bases by putting this here. Thanks again!

I am talking about trading in my '99 F150 SC 4x4 Larait for an F250 SC. I heard that for the 02 the capacities went way up. I know they would want to be getting rid of the 01's though... I am looking at the diesel, 4x4, xlt, sc. He won't give me a $ on my truck, but his "wholesale" guy is coming in this afternoon and I could drop by. I have 72,000 on the '99. I already have the x-plan, I would just need to get a decent trade in number and then hope they will finance me. Any suggestions on the 01 or 02? Help with gettting a better trade in? I've modified my truck and I still don't have th custom skid plate so the front looks bad. I also was rear-ended labor day and I haven't had that fixed yet. (the check came yesterday!) Thanks for the help.

I did not read your whole post but i get want you are saying. I myself moved from a F150 to a F250 and all i can say is more room about the same power. For a fully loaded F150 Xlt and a Fully loaded F250 Xlt the price may very around 2 to 3k. If you are getting a manual get the 2002 they have a 6spd for the gasers unlike 2001 and the 2002 also have the cool clear lights. The load weights most likly have not changed well i have not seen anything. If you are getting a auto go for the cheaper one and that is a 2001. IMHO a F250 XLT SC LWB is the best little long but you will always have extra space and if you put a tool box in the back of a long bet you will end up with a short bed get it and 4X4 or 2X4 up to you and you wallet

Thumbs up

Since you're not gettting a lot of responses, especially concerning the diesel, why don't you post this over on the diesel board. They can give you a whole lot of opinions about the 01 PSD vs the 02 PSD. www.ford-diesel.com plus if you do a search over there, I think the question has been asked before.
