0W-30 in my 2002 V10?

Have about an 11 hour drive, trailering my boat down south next week and wanted to drain the "factory fill" and put new oil in before I leave. Think I'd be hurting anything by putting mobil 1 0W-30 in? or should I use mobil1 5W-30? or should I use motorcrap 5W-20 till I have some more miles on the engine? I only have 1,500 miles on her. Thanks for any advice.

This debate is on going...I have used syn's for 20 years(mobil1), I have always waited until the 10000 mark...others say no put it in now...

If you keep the dino in it and tow that should loosen her up and be ready for the changeover...

The ranger V6 I had always burned oil, I even went to 10000 before using syn...

IMHO--I would make sure the rings are seated completely...

I'm another of those that think you should let the rings set really well before changing over to synthetic. With my diesel, I waited until I had 20k on before going to CAT full synthetic. Even though you have a V10, it might be a good idea to check with the V8 people here in the engine section and see when most of them changed over.
