Question Dually Rear End Bolt In?

new here, great site! referred by pirate4x4. thinking about modifying my tow rig and need to know how practicle this is. i have a 2000 F250SD, regular cab, long bed. I was considering installing a dually rear end (d60/d70/Sterling???) and fabbing up a flat bed. how big a project is this. i can weld up the flat bed so that shouldnt be a problem but will any factory rear end bolt into a truck that was delivered with a single rear wheel axle set up? if not whats the closest and what extra things will i need to do such as move spring perches, u joints, etc....

thanks,

mike

Thumbs up

Welcome to the ford board!!
I think I've read of someone on the diesel board doing or thinking of doing the same thing. Check out www.ford-diesel.com Do a search in their archived sections. Also, what engine do you have??

easier way?

on the farm we have a superduty that was shipped from factory with a single wheel axle. we just got some dually wheel adapters and some dual wheel rims. it works great.
