service bodies

I'm going to put a Omaha Standard service body that is now on my '91 f250 onto a '99 superduty. The manufacturer tells me that in order for it to clear the back wheels, the wheel well has to be radiused out and a rubber "flare" installed. The dealer tells me he's never had to do such a thing and that it should fit. I don't 100% trust the dealer but on the other hand he should know what he's talking about, he has sold them for a number of years and I have to believe he has installed and transfered quite a number of them. Anyone have any experience with these?

I've not got a clue either but you could try posting this over on the diesel board. Someone over there should be able to help with this www.ford-diesel.com

When they changed the body style in 1997 (or was it '98?), the size of the bed was changed. I tried to put a utility cap from my '95 on my '01 SD, and it was too wide at the rear to fit properly. My new cap actually tapers from front to rear (which means the bed is wider at the front than at the rear). Go figure.

Arks,
I've heard that the reason for the bed being tapered
is that the super duty uses the the same tail gate as the F150
I've never checked this out
but I read it in post before

I would double check the measurements of everything on the chassis:

fuel filler location
location of chassis rails
exhaust
etc, etc

any of these components could interfere with the proper mounting of your service body.
