I moved on up to a F250 this year
My 99 F150 s/c 4x4 some where there was a shipping weight
of 4,700
and the 02 F250 s/c 4x4 it was 5,700
I think the weights are low for the trucks
but a 1,000 difference sounds right

Weights according to Edmunds. All are 4x2 and have available 5.4Ls, although the weight is probably with the engine indicated.

F150 RC: 3990 (4.2L v6)
F150 SC: 4487 (4.6L)
SuperCrew : 4655 (4.6L)
Expedition SUV: 5468 (4.6L)
F250 SC: 5505 (5.4L)
F250 CC: 5790 (5.4L)
Excursion SUV: 6650 (5.4L)

Although the weights above may not be 100% accurate, I would expect that the difference between 2 vehicle is fairly accurate..
