Question Price of diesel fuel?

Hi

What do you pay for a gal. of #2 diesel fuel?

Brand name/no name? I know gas 87-91+ oct. can vary from one brand to another...mpg...energy content etc...

Does this happen with diesel fuel...or no differences, dosent matter, use any brand etc.

Thanks. OT

Im paying around a buck 12 at texaco. But it depends on where you are in town. The cheapest fuel is right by my house every where else is about 4 cents higher.

Over here on the right coast, the price of diesel averages about $1.19 per gallon.

24mpg is ALOT, i had a 97 extended cab long bed and got about 17. its about 1.10 or so around here. i have always thought that it should be cheaper than gas. if im not mistaken diesel takes less to refine than gas. i dont know maybe because the truckers have to have it. hell i dont know, i shall go to sleep now

I have a 29 gal tank that will hold-32.5 gals(once almost got 33 in it). I have gotten before 700+ miles on a tank...
Just filled up 650 miles and 30.couple gals=21.5 mpg...
I am fixing to go to 255/85 tires which will get me better fuel mileage. The 6 speed gets 21mpg...which I dont understand, because I can lock the converter and I have .01 better final ratio then the 6 speed...I have propane so the mileage is decieving..Diesel fuel is a by product of the gasoline process, it is cheaper to refine then gasoline and has more btu content...From what I understand the light fuel oil layer is divided evenly between 1 part gasoline, 1 part naptha, and 1 part diesel...

I can remember when it was ALWAYS cheaper than gas. I think Diesel has gotten so popular with engines like the PSD , CUmmins etc that it was a supply and demand thing. They knew we were out there buying it in groves so the price shot up. ITS A CONSPIRACY!

diesel oil is pretty much the same thing as home heating oil. Last year's extra cold winter put a larger demand on the heating oil, resulting in the huge spike in diesel prices last spring (oil companies claiming there was less oil in the refinery storage tanks)

But the lying pr!cks have kept the price up even though this winter has been warmer than normal.

But who do we believe, every oil company has a PR goon that has a unique excuse to explain erratic pricing policies.

Strangely, the price of Diesel is the cheapest for any type of fuel around here. It ranges anywhere from $1.35 per gallon to $1.39 per gallon at most stations.
