I just came from the gas station and filled up my 02' 250 SuperCab (5.4 gasser) and noticed gas dripping heavily from the back and underside of the gas tank. I drove it home and parked it and got out a flash light to see where it was coming from. It appeares to be coming from the rear of the tank near the seam where there is a plug of some kind. Looks like a seal problem or something !!! I called the dealer and are dropping it off in the A.M. to get checked out. Has anyone else had this problem with there S.D. rig??

 

Nope, not me...although sometimes it seems like their MUST be a leak under there somewhere as much as I have to fill up! Sounds like an easy fix for the dealer, but a major pain for you. Hope they get you handled as painlessly as possible.

 

JD, Thanks.....I spoke to the dealership yesterday and they told me I definitely need a new tank and that it has to be shipped from the vendor as opposed to shipped from the factory. Should have it by Tuesday......BUT at least they gave me a loaner car FREE until I get the truck back. I'll give the dealership credit: I just called their Service Dept. and told them I had the leak, brought it in the next day and they looked at it and ordered the part. Not Bad Eh? I'll keep my fingers crossed and so much for taking that trip with my TT to the mountains this weekend........Point Man

Well, Got the truck back last Wednesday with a new tank and it seems to be running fine. They also tightened those rattling doors.....
