Hi Randy and for others

I take it your not impressed with the 4R100 in your SD?

I know its used in alot of the F150 w/5.4L. I wonder if its been beefed up for use in the PSD/V10? 5.4L?
PSD 6L...a/t (opt) 5sp. torque shift @$1400?

Anyhow...just trying to get some feed back on a/t in PSD/V10.

Maybe someone will get 6L with a/t..and post here?

Tks....Good luck...OT

The 4r100 is not use din the 150 except in the harley and the lightning...the 4r70 is used, in the 150...Some people were discussing that the calif models had the 4r100, but I think some people proved otherwise...

The G2 6 liter uses a 5r110...Its a new trans, but untested..
the4r100 is ok once it gets its basic requirements of the shift kit, syn, and the deep pans, and of course to finish it off the chip programming...

The new 6L uses the 5R100, called the TorqShift. Its been tested by Pickuptruck.com in their 3 way roundup. Nice trans

The new trans is the 5r110, The 4r100, leaves alot to be desired stock...Too soft shifts, shift flare, slamlolcking T/C lock-up..

It can be made liveable by the addition of a shift kit, syn fluilds, and deep pan..

The shift kit to improve shifts, the syn fluid for longevity, the deep pan for cooling...

Then the next step is to get Your chip programmer to eliminate the shift flare and make the shifts shorter and firmer...

Next up would be the T/c replacement, then the Hi-po trans...

Yes it can be better and they can with stand over 1000 ft lbs. torque..Thats what some of the diesel guys are putting out for numbers..

Its basically a great stock trans, but needs help for aftermarket...

I am going to get a custom chip and I have a list of mods for the trans program...

Some day I am going to get a T/C.

Stock, it will perform ok, I dont like the slippage of the converter, but mine has done well for the abuse I have given it...

Well reguardless of what you think was proven the 4R100 is used in some of the F150's outside of California. In Fact its used in all "Emmisions" states in the 5.4L and later in like 2000 or 2001 in all the F150 7700's. It is a slightly different 4R100 than the SD one. SD's have slightly different clutches and TQ. There are several versions of the 4R100.

In the SD's all of them have the 4R100 though. Even the 5.4L V8's.
