The salesman said something about the truck being built the last week of the month, but I don't know if that means this week that just finished or next week... Thanks!

They might have another dealer code, it was ordered under.....providing the order # applies to your truck

confirm the dealer code
when did you ordered it?
is it white?

 

I ordered it on July 11th. I got the dealer code from a spec sheet the salesman made up before I visited, but I made a couple of changes. The order number came from an email he sent me, which didn't have a dealer code.

I'll ask him for the info today. Sorry to waste your time, and hopefully I can get a VIN soon to make it easier.

No, sorry, it's a Sterling Grey F250 6.2L Crew Cab. When I first talked to the dealer he had printed out an example of a truck he could order, and it was almost the same as the one I'm getting, but the color and a couple of options were wrong. So I went and we set up a new order for the specific truck. I forgot to ask for a new invoice, so he sent me one in an email. It wasn't formatted right, and it doesn't seem to have the dealer information on it:

Really, it's not urgent. This morning I sent the salesman an email to find out the status and see if it has a VIN yet. Back on the 19th of July he told me the build was "scheduled for the last week of the month" which must be this week. He also said that "We should have a vin number right before the build."

I'll come back when I get a VIN or more info from the dealer... Thank you for helping though!

SETCHAN, can you please tell me if my truck started the build process today? The salesman called yesterday and told me the good news. He said it was due on 13AUG, but could be earlier or later. I wonder if there's any difference because it's coming on convoy from Kentucky.

Anyway, it's too bad because I wanted to go to the track with the motorcycle on 11AUG, and it looks like that won't happen, because I already sold my old truck...

Holy cow that's fast. I know the old joke about not having a motorcycle built on a Monday or Friday, and that the Wednesday bikes are the best, because nobody's hung over from or looking forward to the weekend. I guess a Wednesday truck is about the same.

It's only 600 miles from Kentucky to Kansas City, so hopefully it will get here soon. Awesome news, and thanks for the info, SETCHAN.

SETCHAN - I don't think there's much more you can tell me about the truck since it's in transit, but I do have some general questions. You can answer them or not, but I'm just curious.

Do trucks normally take less time as they reach the end of the model year?
Is it faster to go convoy or rail?
Do trucks come out of Kentucky or Dearborn faster?

Oh that sucks. So they loaded it onto a truck so it could then get loaded onto a train, so it can get loaded onto a truck again once it gets here... And that took an extra day. Bummer!

So I looked around and found out the Shelbyville Mc is not a motorcycle club, but a "Mixing Center". I'm assuming that they moved the truck there, and it will then be put with a bunch of other trucks headed my way. They'll probably be loaded at the Appliance Park, KY rail yard, and then sent straight to Kansas City.

SETCHAN, when you get a railcar number, may I have that please, so I can figure out the status of the truck? Thanks.
