RX-8 (manual) 250hp @ 8,500 rpm

im curious where that engine red lines because its rotory, i have no knowledge on those engines and i thought we stopped making em in like ww2 because they were deemed too ineffecient (i think percision machining might have taken care of that?). Anyone know?

Unfortuantely, its probably not for sale yet.

My buddies street-ported FD3S ('93) winds out to 9500rpm.

She deosnt want a Lightning?!! It only took a few trips to the track and a few svt meets for my girl friend to fall in love with lightnings and the 03 cobras. I think if she had the money she would get one in a heart beat....but every now and again she makes me cringe when she points out a new VW Bug ..what ya gonna do, at least she thinks civics are gay

Go with the Vette. I don't think the others are even close.

Damn, with all these new RX8s and 350Zs , looks like we have another challenge on the road.

Oh well, they aren't going to be that bad, as long as we dont get some punk a$$ 16 yr olds driving them.

Wait for the 2005-2006 Mustang Cobra to hit the showroom. I dont think you will be disappointed. Or just get the 03 cobra, blown and cool looking!

The next generation Mustang is gonna be sweet, I saw it at the Detroit auto show in person. Think 67 fastback but with modern styling. My wife has an 82 RX-7 which will be restored if we ever get off the road long enough. That is one fun car to drive, so the RX-8 is gonna be even better I bet. A Vette? No thanks. I don't know why, but for some reason I have not liked Vettes ever since they lost the basic 68-up body style,,,,98

If you can afford the purchase price and the insurance for the Z06, go for it. Those others don't come close.

If not, get the 350Z (I actually like the G35 better). I think the RX-8 would be a pain to drive around in - with it's lack of torque you gotta spin the thing at 7k rpm just commuting around.
