considering new car..

My woman is in bad need of a new car. She currenty drives a 97 v6 camaro with 160,000 miles . So we have been reaserching cars. Since it's her car she driving and has to live with but she said i get to mod it. We both agree when you buy a car will you still love it when your 60, resale calue, and also keep the "cool" factor. She's pretty picky so we went to the dallas car show. So we picked a few and wanted to know what everyone thought.

350z (track package ofcourse with the brembo's)
- makes good rwhp and eat's stock gt's
- seen one dyno 240 to the rear
- slap on a turbo and have a cool little car (pretty sure the motor will take it, cause it's japanese unlike american motors .
- good interior with a nice feel

Corvette Z06 (if the money is there)
- shes a corvette fan
- holds good resale
- it's a z06 ...duh
- about 380 to the rear (correct me if i'm wrong)

new rx-8
- good price
- cool rotary motor (what mods can you do.. i dunno?)
- good desighn, nice gas mileage , cool interior
- bad points: not impressed with the hp and torque numbers.

It is her car so, after her both sitting in a vet and a z she actually liked the z a bit more. everyone has one though. plus it's less than a z06.

oppinions please.

I like the Z better than the RX8. They are both cool, but the RX8 looks a little funny with that door in the back to me. It's probably function and a good justification to buy the car if you have a family.

IMO, I would take the Z06 anyday. Actually, I would take a standard hardtop Vette over either one. But since it's you wife car, she may want a back seat and more room.

you know most women. they are concerned with HP numbers. the z has no back seat either. i just threw in the rx8 in there because i like it. it is kinda funny looking. be nice to drive to work for a daily beater .

her actually being a hardcore vet fan liked the z just as much. dunno. if we did get a vet have to be the zo6. ofcourse the $20,000 extra over the z is another problem

time will tell.

I'd pick the z06 if you have the green.

I prefer the G35 coupe over the 350Z. So if it was a G35 or a ZO6, I'd probably take the G35 for daily driver. ZO6 for nice day/weekend driver.

Z cars....

My wifes lease is almost up on her current ride and we've been shopping as well, as for the current crop of new rides she digs the new Z more than anything else with the G35 Infinity a close second, we looked at the new cobra, Audi TT and a couple of other german rides, from what she say's the Z car just wraps around her and it's fun to drive. I couldn't agree more...

I just read the z has a carbon fiber drive shaft. can't beat the brembo package either, slap on a turbo and kill some wrx sti's

very comparible to the g35 coupe. has almost the same motor features, z cost less also.

I'd go with a non-Z06 corvette. If kept up will always be worth at least 15-18K and is one of the safest cars on the road in a severe impact. The 350 Z's look nice. Just not a big fan of V6 engines or sound.

The RX-8 will be faster then the 350Z.

Get the Mazdaspeed RX-8 package...
