Unhappy No more L mods :(

I pretty much have decided to get a bike. Probably a GSXR600 like my friend's. This means no more modding this summer as I save up for the downpayment.

If any of you vendors see me at WFC, promise you'll refuse my money if I lose self-control...

oh god, dude when you get a bike it all goes down hill!

When its a nice day out the first thing I want to do is ride the bike! I said I'm not going to mod this thing at all, yeah that was like 3 grand ago!

now this winter I found a guy to do a sweet as mystic paintjob with ghost flames and everything for 1700 bucks!

The bad thing about bikes is there's just so much stuff you can buy and buy and buy and they come out with it just like that!!

Honestly though if your going to get a 600, either get a F4I or a R6. the new R6 is pretty much the cats a$$ of 600's now and the F4I is always one of the best and usually the best. its all personal pref though.

for 2004 the gixxer 1K is going to be the dog of the year now, the new R1 is going to be nutty, the new fireblade is supposed to be even better and lighter then most 600's . 2004 is going to be a big year for the liter bikes!

My dad is looking at buying ***** world in joliet pretty soon so when you want a bike I'll be able to get you a good deal, they sell them all. so hold up a bit and I'll hook you up bro.

The R6 is the cats ***. I rode mine with a hybusa, and an ZX12R.
I thought that they would just smoke my little 600. Man was I wrong. They can pull on me no doubt, just not nearly as fast as you would think. This is of course on the straights. In the corners, they 12R went so slow I thought their was deer, or something in the road, so I went slow also. After the 3rd corner I realized that it was the driver/bike combo, passed him in the corner on the inside, after 15 seconds I didn't see him again for 10 minutes. I also caught up and passed the rest of them. I'm also no pro driver, the R6 just ROCKS.

if its your first bike you should definetly go with something small like a 600....i had a ninja 250 then upgraded to my ducati 748 which i love and im just getting into racing now so my motorcycle is definetly a money pit but its worth every penny....there is not one part on a motorcycle that you cant get an aftermarket piece for....cyntaxx, if your on a college campus be careful because motorcycle theft is very frequent, i go to ASU and im shellin out an extra 40 bucks a month for a storage facility, i highly suggest it if you dont have a garage or something, but the peace of mind is priceless......update us on what your gonna buy

If you going to get a "small bike" get a Kawi 636; I work at a Suzuki/Kawasaki shop, and those 636 are sweet! At least consider it; didn't really like the 600rr. To rev happy with no bottom end.

But, my view is if you are going to get a 600 and then mod it why not just buy a 750, if you buy the 750 you'll want to mod it; so just go ahead and get the biggest motor. Then when you mod it you have one fast bike

I don't know exactly what 600 sport bike I'll end up getting and it'll most likely come down to price.

As for security, I will park it next to my Lightning in my apartment complex's garage. I already am in the process of getting a surveillance system hooked up for my Lightning and will do so for the bike when it arrives.

Because something like a 750 or 1000 is waaaay too big for what I want. Plus it costs too much as does insurance. I don't plan on modding the bike much if any. Well, maybe a pipe, headers, brake pads, chip, gear, shocks, spring, front stabilizer, fork, wheels, and some other stuff, but nothing too big

Seriously though, I'm not after the fastest bike. I'm after the bike that I feel most comfortable with in taking it to its fullest limits. To me, that is more important because if I can ride a 600 well and squeeze as much performance out of it as possible, I will be fast enough.

I was in the same situation last year. Wanted a small sportbike to start out. Rode the F4i and R6 (02 models). You want to feel confident in the bike's ability and "oneness" with the rider...ie handling. Especially if you're not all about the power. Hands down the F4i handled like a dream so that's what I ended up getting. The 03's are even nicer since the black/silver combo is back

How about just modding your truck more!! Then you'll still be alive to enjoy it.

I've been thinking about getting a bike as well. I went and looked at a CBR600F4I last night. I think I fell in love. It is a very nice bike. I wanted to look at a R6 but they didn't have any. That Honda was SWEET though. Just might have to pick it up.

If you want comfort get a Honda or Ninja.
If you want speed get any of the big 600's.
I had a Gixxer with BMW M3 silver paint but had to sell it last summer.

My friend just picked up a 2001 gsxr600b/w with 3k on it including jacket, stand, 2 helmets, and a cover. $5500.

Another thing. It's ok to buy a bike that has slight cosmetic damage cause I'm tellin you right now. You WILL drop your bike. Not to be a ***** or anything but I babied mine and cried like a b!tch when I laid her down.

Anything you want to know about a gixxer. www.gixxer.com. They're just as nice there as the people here. You will be riding so much at first with new people but eventually you might get bored w/ the 600 like I did. Good beginner bike but I'm ready to move up to a 748 dookie.
Good luck.
