Smile Current Generation of Triton Engines

You guys ever wonder how long the 5.4, 4.6, and 6.8 will continue to be produced? I mean, look at the 5.0, 5.8, and 7.5. They were just retired after I'd guess about 30 years of service. I wonder if 15 years from now, F-150's will still offer the current setup.. Just something to think about.

Do you think Ford can afford to sit by while everyone goes by them? So many engines are already made with 4 valves per cylinder. I was surprised they would go to 3 valves instead
of 4.

wait till Ford comes out with a factory 4 valve 5.4 in a truck. Hell the 3 valve is hanging right there with the Chevy and Dodge 4 valves. Im sure the Triton series will be around for a good while--they sure have proven well-built so far.

This might be a little off topic but think about where cars and trucks were 30 years ago. Think about where they'll be in 30 years.

Ford needs to have more NA HP out of the motors than they are having now.

I would like to see an alcohol fed motor, fire nicely and cleaner.

Trucks should come with DOHC4.6 (mach 1) and 5.4 DOHC (navigator) as an option as well as the 3 valve motors. That would give a good variety to the already huge variety ford offers now in the truck line up.
