I had a front seal go on my old 88 F-150 with the AOD tranny. Tranny needed to be torn down to fix it and was in need of a rebuild anyways so Im not sure what the price of just the seal would have been.

Im not sure if the new trannys are any different but if it has to be torn down then you might as well have the entire transmission rebuilt. The tranny parts themselves are pretty cheap but its the labor that gets ya.

Shoulda bought a Chevy...my tranny went 230k before needing a rebuild......

Gotcha! Just kidding man...you got a sweet truck that I wouldnt mind having myself. Hope all works out well and the repair doesnt cost you too much. Maybe someone else can give you a definitive answer.

1895.25 dollars for a rebuild for a friends 98 ext cab ford auto tranny. Always buy a stick its much cheaper to repair...
