Windsor, Canada

Me and some buddies are looking to go somewhere on spring break this year. We have all been to Panama the past two years so we are looking to mix it up a little. Somewhere like Cancun is a little out of our budget, but we have heard Windsor, ON is a cool place to go. Even better since its only 350 miles from here versus 750 to Panama.

Anyone been to Windsor. If so could we expect a good time if we went up there?

Do you have to have or pay anything special to cross the border into Canada?

Never been there but have friends there. I believe you would only need a valid ID to cross the border. (I wouldn't try jamming anyone in your trunk ) Try posting your post in the Canada forum under Regions I believe. If I were you, I'd definitely go there.

Talking

eposey, Never been there myself !!!!!!! LOL !!!!!!! J/K

Neal "HP Freak", JMC, Kidd, myself and a few others live here in Windsor.

Here is a couple of sites for you to look at. This is by now means a huge party place during March break time. Alot of people leave here and head south for that time period. Downtown on the weekends are generally pretty crazy at times. In total there are 4 large casinos here (1 in Windsor and 3 in Detroit) and a slots parlour at Windsor Raceway which is also a horse track where they simulcast races from all over and they have Live racing on Wednesday and Sunday nights at 6 p.m.

Some Windsor Information
Windsor Raceway
Windsor Weather

Let us know if you are coming up and maybe we can get together sometime.

You never know exactly what they're going to want at the border so I would bring drivers license & birth certificate.

Personally I've only been over there twice (last minute partying decisions) but I've always had fun.

you need to pay bridge tolls but that is only a couple of bucks.

Once in Windsor, you are only a short trip to Niagara Falls or Toronto (if you want to mix it up a little)

We are thinking that we would probably get there on a Thursday night and leave Sunday morning, so that everyone that works would only miss friday at work. If everything works out, I should be the the 18th-21st.

Might even bring the L up.

Cool

The Toronto & Niagara Falls trips would take about 4 hours each from Windsor. To get across the boarder, you should have at a minimum your Driver's License and Birth Certificate with you. If you have a Passport that would be all the better.

Here is the websites for the two crossings.

Ambassador Bridge
Detroit - Windsor Tunnel

Would that be a License and Birth Certificate for everyone in the vehicle or just the driver?

Which way is best to cross the border?

Come to Toronto...

We have arguably the best club/bar/nightlife in Canada in the downtown district.

Age of majority is 19

Very pretty girls (multicultural city), very good beer (Molson/Labatt lol)

Everyone in the car to be on the safe side. It's usually more important to have these things if you want to get back in to the states.
