I have no problem with authority, but some cops here are taking it too far. I shouldn't have to be searched more than once a week, anyway.

 

That had to be, by far, the stupidest thing I have heard in a long time. Did you not have your pea-brain in gear when you replied?
Just imagine, no cops. Some big thug decides he likes your truck, so he comes up to you and slams you in the head with a 2x4 and takes it away from you, and you have nobody to call. Maybe the garbage man will help. Then he looks at your registration, gets your home address and goes and rapes your 11 year old daughter, and while he's at it, decides to slash up your wife and kill the dog, Who ya gonna call, ghost busters?

 

Ya know...
Some of us have more firepower in our homes than a small police station; and are VERY capable of hitting a target at 50+ yards. The thug better have one doozy of a 2x4 if I've got my SKS.

 

One night a few months ago, I was driving down the pike on my way home all loaded down with the wife & kids when a trooper pulls me over. Knowing that I had done nothing wrong I was'nt very worried but you always know that if a law enforcement official wants to tag sumthin on you he can easily do it. The trooper stays in his car behind me for about ten minutes before he comes over to the car. Long story short, he ran my plates and came up with a warrant but ran them again only to find he got one number wrong. He graciously apologized and let me go on my way.

And that was the very first time I was ever pulled over by a trooper and gotten off without any tickets at all. Of course I've also had situations that did'nt turn out that well regardless of innocence, but it's just a sad part of life where the people you really count on lack professionalism.

BTW, considering that I believed I had done nothing wrong I was not totally surpised about being pulled over because I was driving alongside Newark Liberty Airport and expected that troopers or anyone else nearby would be highly vigilant because of the location and recent events.

That's my two bits.

 

And for those of you who don't have big guns, tough chit I suppose. Probably some of the thugs have guns bigger than yours, macho man, and would hold you at gunpoint and make you watch. Maybe the lawn caretaker will jump in and take a bullet for you...............NOT!!
