Dang!

I clipped another car leaving work the other day. My work parking lot is so crowded and tight I hit it as I was trying to squeeze out of my spot. Son of a..... I dented it right before my passenger side rear tire. Not too bad but my first esst. at the local Ford shop was $800 bucks. Looks like I'm going to have to live it for a while.

I hear you on that one. I always park out in the back of beyond in any parking lot. I just don't understand people who have to fling their doors open and ram them into the side of the rig parked beside them. Figure I can walk a loooong way for the price of getting door dings fixed! Another reason...a few months back I drove past the Safeway parking lot and saw a CarBQ in full flame and the car sitting beside it in the lot had caught fire too. At least parked in the back of the lot my truck won't become an innocent victim!

Sorry to hear about your truck racerx1307, that sux

Yeah… I know it’s my fault but I know that car must have been like inches from me. It was on my passenger side so I wasn’t really paying attention. I’ve pulled out of parking spots thousands of times the same way, and this time I clipped it. I’m going to go to other shops, it looks like a $300 dollar fix to me. I think that dealership way over charges.

how much to fix the car you hit?

i'm the one in the back row, when i smoked it was perfect. time for a whole cigarette from the truck to the door. now i do it just so people don't hit me pulling in or out.

Don’t know yet but we both works in the same office and she’s being cool about it. I’ll pay her out of pocket instead of going through insurance. Police weren’t called. I’m guessing $500 bucks give or take. I would be paying at lot more in the long run with a claim. My premiums would go up and I would have a claim on my account and lose all the discounts I get now. I have a perfect record so I get all these little bonuses on stuff. I’ll just suck it up and keep my clean driving record. I wouldn’t do it except we work together and she’s like in her late 40’s. I don’t think she’ll be “out to get me”. I’ll ask to see a copy of the estimate before I give any money.

cool deal, always best to pay the little ones out of pocket.

had to ask, your first post made no mention like you may be doing the unthinkable
