I'll clarify an earlier statement - The only modern flareside that looks good is the Lightning. But even those have a stupit taillight design. I really like the older style... mid-80s F-150s are my favorite flaresides.

Thanks for the welcome

First thing I want to do is replace the worn tires with a bigger size. Just not sure what will work. I'd like to go 31x10.5 on the stock wheels.

Saleen97 - the mustang is a 2001 gt with some bolt ons.

timing adjuster @ 14*, prochamber H pipe, 2 chamber flowmasters, pro5.0 shifter, in fender air filter, 31 spline moser axles, F150 Tloc differential, FRPP 4.10 gears, 15x4 Telstars front, 15x7.5 rear , ET streets and no front sway bar.

Strange adjustable shocks and struts are going in this week.

Car was running consistent 13.1's until I got the nerve to power shift. last event it ran consistent 13.0's trapping at 102 and 103.

Here's some pics my friend's wife took at the last Superstallions Event.

And a little write up from 5.0 Mustangs and Super Fords a couple months ago

Thanks man. I can't believe the car is 5 model years old now. Looks just like it did when I picked it up from the dealer. I'm a Zaino addict. Lol.

I'll have it for a very long time......I'll never get back what I put into it.

Mustang

Hey Fast01gt,

Love the car, I had a 03 that same color (mineral gray) loved it. Some lady at work took the front end off in our parking lot. Didnt have it 2 weeks when it happened. With the money I put a Saleen front air dam and side skirts on it. Looked pretty cool. Heres a pic of my little (ongoing) project. Theres a few more pics in my gallery too.

Usually run 9.50's to 9.60's range, but had alot of traction problems. Personal best is 9.46@148mph. Over the winter I went to a 4-link set up with adjustable coil overs and threw on some wheelie bars. Went with different carb and went through engine again. Never fooled with a 4-link before so this spring is going to be intresting.
Hope to run in low 9's if it hooks better which it should , low 9's will be no prob.
I added a few more engine pics in the gallery also since last posting.

That is a sweet motor.

I'm hoping to dip into the 12's next month.

I'm trying to make the car a mid 12 car staying NA

After that I don't know. Maybe a blower next year.

These mod motors are nothing like the 5.0's. Some things they respond well too and some they don't.

I give you till the end of this summer, lol. Then comes the blower. Then comes traction problems, then you finally get it to hook up..........bammmmm then tranny problems or axles.(looks like your alright on the axles though).
Once you get in the 12's..........you think..........hmmmm low twelves would be nice..............still thinking hmmmm 11's are just around the corner. It all snowballs from the first time you run down that track........but I can see you have already figured that out
All this time you bump up into different classes because of the changes you make and you find yourself behind in the pack and have to do more stuff to be competitive. Thats were Iam at right now, no way I can keep up with the pro-outlaw guys. So I have to run the Wild street like classes. But its all fun right???

Dude, I've been there with the low 14,s then high 13's then mid 13's

It's never enough. I got the car to 13.0's like I wanted to with the stock suspension.

Now in goes the drag suspension to get 12's

Honestly, if i don't get it I'm gonna be pissed.

I don't think for what little I've done to the car 13.0
isn't bad for a gt.

Sure the tires help and I was spinning like crazy on Nitto drag radials so the et streets helped a lot.

Funny thing is this is all just for me. I don't bracket race at all.

I go on test and tunes and just run the car to run it.

I was getting ready to put a cage in my stang cus i run faster than 11.99 but this year they dropped the rule to 11.50. so for now i wont need the cage.
