You can actually google the error codes and that may help to narrow it down.

It if runs for a while and then shuts down or acts up overheating is a good guess.

Thanks fella's.

If my power supply is being "over worked" could it cause the CPU to get hot.....and thats what is causing my reboots / shutdowns / hang ups? Sometimes it doesnt shut down, sometimes the screen goes black and nothing happens, the PC is still runing. (that's what it's doing now, an added bonus I guess)

BTW my fans are running full speed as well.

Well if your fans are running full speed (how many by the way) that could be an indication that there is too much heat in the case.

I have 3 or 4 but they only kick in when necessary.

Add one more and she might start to fly around the room!

I've only got the PS fan and the processor cooling fan and thats more than loud enough for me.

The key is to keep it clean...
Use canned air or if I dont have that I turn the air compressor down to 30psi and blow out the Power Supply, the Processor fan & fins, then give a light blow over the enitre board and card with an air gun. If you use an air compressor make sure your have an inline water seperator installed and that it is emtpy so you don't accidentally spray a drop of water on anything.

Is there adequate airflow to your PC? My desk has a drawer/ shelf specifically designed for a PC but if I put it in there it will overheat due to lack of fresh air flow. Pull that puppy out into the open so it can cool.

I had that problem with my old albatron geforce 4 Ti4200. I bought a new 256mb geforce 4 FX5500 and now it works better than ever. My guess is the card is just no good.

By 'all open' I assume you mean the area around the PC, and not the PC itself. Leaving the cover off the PC is disaster. Unless of course you have a small fan blowing directly into it.

You are correct. By "all open" I mean nothing obstructing the PC....it's case is closed.

its not the fact that the water gets on the board but that the small droplets of water at anymore then 30PSI will penetrate the PCB and the chips on the board thus ruining it i dont regulate my pressure on my compressor i just dont hold it next to it. when i let it blow out the computer lol. ive seen one guy literally blow chips off a board with compressed air:-p and actually cans of air that use alcohol and CO2 can be dangerous if u move them alot
or hold em upside down u can free chips on the board and crack em ruin them so if ur gonna use the cans of air be cautios and always hold upright and dont move it quickly

Thats exactly what I was thinking....I am not for sure what Wattage my power supply is. It's an older box, so I am sure I could use a new one.

thnx Faster. I can swap out power supplies in a few minutes. I am gonna pick one up on my home tonight.

go with an antec or enermax brand, DO NOT buy a cheap one!!! they will fry ur computer. poor wuality voltage regulators and transformers will over power some things and spike the amps or not provide enough power and make ur computer run hot fry ur CPU ram and all that good stuff.
