National Gas Boycott Day
I encourage everyone to boycott your local ga$ $tation$ on Sept. 1st. We are going to try it here in the Valdosta, Ga area and if all goes well we will try it again and again. It does not matter if we get gas the day before or the day after just not on Sept. 1st. We want to send a clear message that we all are tired of the gas hikes. Its time to make a stand. Pass along the news, tell everyone you can and let me know how it works out. Good luck!

Bush doesn't give 2 sh@ts about the price of gas or oil prices going up...think how did the Bushs get rich...oil! The huricane shouldn't affect prices of gas, but companies can blame it on the hurricane just to make a few billion more dollars. Oil companies profits went from round 18 billion to nearly 25 billion when price per barrel of oil started going up last year. They are profiting from people panicing and just knowing that people will buy gas no matter what. More of our oil comes from South Africa than most other places and you don't here of any problems going over there!

Yeah, is Bush the president of an oil company or the US now. If he really was about oil why dont we own the oil in Iraq then?

GW has nothing to do with the price of gas. Give Exon a call. They should be able to tell you that their profits will rise from $21,000,000,000.00 in 2004 to approx. $33,000,000,000.00 in 2005, prior to this latest hike. Sounds like you are jealous that GW has his money invested in the right place.

you shoud have done what i did last year, i bought a big 5000 gallon fuel tank that i filled up when gas was about 1.78 a gal (i think) still have alot of fuel left
but what i dont get is why some of these gas stations dont get into trouble for price galging (however you spell it) like the other day i was at a local car wash fundraiser and when one gas station went up to 2.69 the one across the street went up to 2.68 from 2.57 within an hour of each other. And i know that they didnt pay that much for the gas because neither got a shipment

I HATE PEOPLE THAT DONT UNDERSTAND CAPITALISM!!!! Its simple, they will charge whatever people will pay. Unless demand goes down, pricess will stay the same or go away. With the hurricane, much of the domestic oil we were getting is now eliminated, limiting supply, but demand still stays exactly the same, so prices will go up more. your boycott will do NOTHING!! NOTHING!!!!! You want to hurt oil companies, STOP DRIVING!!! That is the ONLY solution to the problem! SUPPLY AND DEMAND, DUMBASS!!!!

You can't blame the gas station owners, most of them are making less money now. They depend on the coffee you buy not the gas.
Oil is a monopoly just like the electricity that comes into your house. The deregulation started with the Regan administration. Republicans have average Americans fooled into thinking what they do is good for us.
Oil company profits are at all time highs and we pay more. One oil company raises their price and they all do and we have no choice... but our vote has plenty of choice.
Vote smart
