a little from the left

I've been bored and was looking to see what happened to Jerry Springer on Air America. He's still there but the local station doesn't cary it anymore. I like to hear varying opinions and found some while looking around.

I just wanted to pass on some links and find out what you think:

Check out some of the sound clips. You might find them interesting.

This one has some nice merchandice. You might want to buy one of everything.

I listened to her show before the presidential election. Her show helped solidify my choice. She used to have a three hour show with a couple side kicks, one being Chuck D. It's just her now for an hour.

There is a lot to choose from here. Take your pick.

I post these links because I find the information interesting and think that there may be some others that do as well. If there are links to similar sites but a little from the right, I would like to see those as well. If you know of some, please pass them on. I think that we are capible of engaging in a reasonable conversation about this stuff. I hope. I also hope that I haven't blatantly violated the rules. I reviewed them and don't believe that I have. If I have I know there will be consequences.

So, what do you think?

www.boortz.com , he has a good daily writeup. He's a libertarian, so he's an equal oportunity critic. Not too fond of democrats though.

Yes Rocky, thank you. Good stuff.

What I was hoping to see is people leaning to the left showing me right leaning sites that paralell the left leaning sites that I posted links to. What I mean by paralell is, as radical, as fanatical, as rude and in your face. They do exsist, don't they? The sites that I posted links to in my opinion are extremely counterproductive and it actually surpises me a bit that it's possible that large numbers of people share the views expressed by radicals like this. Are the numbers large?

Like the months before the '04 elections, I keep hearing what people are supposedly thinking. The poll numbers. I was nervous election night that the canidate I didn't want to win would. The information I was hearing assured me that he would. In the end, the canidate that I voted for won.

I live in MA, a very blue state. We did manage 34% red in the election, which I think was ok considering. You all have to understand that the tone here is somber. My access to media is somewhat limited and the media I do see tells me that people like Randi Rhodes represent what "the country" feels. It worries me what might happen in '06 and in '08. I know people are dissapointed with the way some things are going. I would like to see some things better too. I just cringe at the thought of these radicals getting their way.

I got the wrong impression leading up to November of last year. Am I getting the wrong impression now?

I have plenty of access to media... Internet, several news channels on the satelite, morning shows out the butt, afternoon shows out the nose, evening shows out the A$$, evening news out all orfices. Yet I pay little to no attention to any of them, I dont even let the news channels show in my program guide. I find them for the most part single and close minded, bias, extremeist, in one direction or the other depending up on the agency and broadcaster. They seem to much liie a soap opera to me. But most importantly I find them all extremely depressing.

My colleagues that watch the morning news before work, they all come into work in a bad mood and rarely snap out of it. I have mentioned this observation and several tried an experiment to stop watching it atleast before work. Thier over all attitude towards life drastically changed almost immediatly and they became much happier. Now slowly they are ignoring it all together and the rest are quiting too.

It's like an addiction once you get involved then you want to see what soap opera they are going to report to you the next day. If I wanted to see fake staged fights I would get more enjoyment out of watching jerry springer or a cheap wresteling association.

Well said. I watch a litle FNC sometimes to get the latest goings on, or if something like the hurricanes is being reported. Otherwise, I just don't want to hear it any more. I do take in about 45minutes of the Hannity radio show during weekdays because I'm stuck sitting for that time with nothing to do. If he's on a big rant or interviewing some dufus (right or left) I'll turn it off. Otherwise I scan websites, FNC, CNN, Boortz, etc.
