Anyone have any extra dog leashes?
I am the volunteer coordinator for MaxFund (www.maxfund.org), a local animal shelter in Denver. We are hard up for dog leashes but don't have the funds to go out and buy a bunch. Seems when people adopt a dog and forget a leash they've just been giving them one without charging them for it. If you have any lying around that you don't use anymore (preferably the type with a loop at the end for your arm so the dog can't rip the leash out of your arm without your hand going with it!) you can send them to me:

Thanks!

I'm not paying shipping, I figured if anyone had any and wanted to spend $1 or so to ship them to me, it woudl help me out, if not, no biggie .
We have some BIG DOGS at this shelter and I wouldn't trust one of the $1 store leashes to the task. Many of these dogs don't quite know "heel" so they pull and pull and pull. LOL.

yeah, I dont think anyone would send money though . Appreciate the thought though.
Vader, we could probably use 150-200 leashes. Even at $2 a piece (which would be for cheap ones that wouldn't be comfortable and probably break quickly) that adds up to $400. When your operating at a shelter with a real low budget, that gets to be expensive.
My theory was to charge people who forgot to bring their own leashes, but generally they are happy to find the adoptive parents and so just give the leash in as a freebie if they forget one.

A paypal account is exactly what i was referring to... if i was going to buy a 1 dollar leash and pay 2 dollars to ship.... i would rather just give you the 3 dollars and you can buy 3 leashes. And the dollar leashes work great.. i have a 75lb dog and they withstand his shoulder dislocating strenghth.
If anybody is familiar with Ernie from "ernies house of whoopass" (ehowa)
this is the way he gets funding for "pet donation projects"

I've got paypal if anyone really wants to donate cash, I just figured no one would want to donate money to the cause.
It's mattadams@rmftc.com
I think MaxFund also has a way to donate money to them directly through their website if you wanted to do that.
Don't worry, I'm trustworthy, I won't go spending the money on beer and strippers!
