No, it's probably because of this thread already being in existence for this season. But that's just me.

IMO, Elliot is a fine singer, decent performer and probably a great guy. He stepped his game up recently under lots of pressure and deserves credit for that. BUT... he has no star quality whatsoever and his 'funky/soulful white boy' niche is not appealing to me at all and I would never buy his record. He can't possibly win, so he must go.

Kat had one great song last night. She is HOT and when she is on, she is really on. She is very talented but inconsistant. With the right songs and producers, she could be brilliant in the studio. With experience her live performances will only get better. Huge upside for her - she could sell a lot of records with the right management.

Taylor - the dude is fun to watch and very entertaining. He can do the slow balland and keep your interest just standing in place. Or he can go all spastic and have the entire audience bouncing along with him. All 3 of his songs were good.

I will be very happy with a Taylor/Kat final.

We all know the outcome anyway. It's been planned since the beginning. Clive Davis has his new protege.

Sour grapes much? Your boy will have his deal soon enough, without his band I might add. Says he's doing what's best for "him and his family". I called him leaving his "friends" from the beginning. AHHHHHH, the almighty dollar!

No...not sour grapes. But you have to agree it wasn't fair. As far as him leaving his band, we don't know that yet for sure. And really, he should do what's best for him and his family. Wouldn't you? Whatever he does......I will be his fan.

LT no offense or anything, but how was it unfair? More people voted for the other 3 than voted for him. Its a pretty simple concept really, the one that makes this show so good. Viewer interaction. See other people disagreed with your choice as the best performer (I won't get into the "American public is musically stupid" argument) and voted accordingly.

As far as him leaving his band??? I don't think he's even mentioned the thought of staying with them. When its brought up he just says he'd do whats best. Translation: "I want to leave them, but I just haven't found the right band to sing for. If I do stay with them, I'd leave them in a heartbeat if some band I liked called me."

All in all, I like his voice and style. He was one of my 2 favorites and I'll probably buy his album wherever he goes.

No offense taken. Maybe "fair" wasn't the right word to use. However, with the internet and television showing the outrage over him getting voted off, has to say something. Many people were saying they couldn't get through his lines and others were saying that when they did they heard other contestants voices thanking them. In past shows when there were errors American Idol re-aired the show and let the vote start over. This time the only mention was.....you have to VOTE VOTE VOTE. But it doesn't matter at this point anyway. Just airing my feelings.

Anyone else find it interesting that the general public gets riled up, starts get out the vote campaigns, and spend minutes or hours trying to vote for an "American Idol" but have no clue who their elected officials are, aren't registered to vote, and couldn't care less about the elections that really matter?

Not a personal indictment of anyone here just a general observation.

X2

It amazes me when they announce the number of votes that were called in any given night. Yes, some people vote repeatedly, but the numbers are still QUITE large. Then again, I don't want someone who votes religiously for AI to vote only casually for those that represent me. Maybe, in that respect, it's a good thing, vader.
