Psychology Question????

What is the phobia of dark water called?
Dark water being any body of water that one can not see the bottom of.
I have a friend with this phobia (actualy 2) and I'd like to find a way to to try and ease thier phobia.

I'd agree with this. But if that's not good enough for you then make up a phobia . . .

Achluophobia- Fear of the dark
Hydrophobia- Fear of water

So you could combine them and say that Achluohydrophobia™ is the fear of dark water

If it's not a real word, then you will get credit for making it up, be placed in the Psych-Hall-O-Fame alongside Freud, Jung, and other assorted . . . whatever they were.

Or not.

Hydrophobia- Fear of water or of rabies.

HUH, funny that was the first thing that poped in my head, but I thought that hydrophobia was a symptom of rabies, being a fear of water. I thought that is what rabies are and left untreated the victim eventually died of dehydration becasue they were to scared of it to drink.

Guess I won't rely on shows like Old Yellar to learn my medical terminolgy and symptoms anymore.

Funny I have the same fear.

When the kitchen sink is full of dishes and soapy water.

Run for the basement.

Maybe Limnophobia- Fear of lakes fits too.

So it would be, AchluoLimnohydrophobia™ Fear of dark lake water.

DO AWAY WITH THE PENNY????

Guess it will happen. I was thinking of that the other day. I rember when chocolate bars were 8 cents and 1 cent tax, ( Washington State). and 10 cents in Canada. Now in Canada they are just about a buck. The penny is not really needed except for the fractional math and the sales slogans that end in 99 cents./ You know the ones everything for under a buck. As seen on TV $9.99. etc.

Bet the penny will become an aluminum alloy, if it stays.
