It's hard to put into words the size of that monster. I dont remember the amount of land that bad boy moves with each drag, but it'll make you go:

I've seen them on the Discovery channel. But not up close. I remember hearing a story about one tipping over in Harlan, KY when they were trying to move it across a road. I bet alot of men shat their pants that day.

I know that's right. They moved the one at Alocoa across a road one time, and it left all kinds of damage on the road. I remember my dad telling me that you can turn an 18 wheeler around in the bucket.

I haven't seen it up close, but that sum-gun is big.

I'll ask my Dad to take a few pics if they have any over in Wyoming.

My grandparents lived in Central City, Kentucky (before they both passed) and I'd always remember waking up every morning when at their place to the sound of dynamite exploding at the coal mines. Not a job for those who are careless.

Peacemaker, I'm sure the old man will be fine. You guys are in our prayers.

What's the name of that place if you don't mind saying Ultra_Miner?

Thanks Stealth. I appreciate it. I remember dynamite first thing in the morning too.

Peacemaker, I am here right in the middle of all the strip mining. Makes for some good atv riding.

My dad was an underground mine foreman & job boss for bethlehem steel mining for 30 years here in east ky. Best of luck to your father. Prayer sent to keep him safe.
