Can I ask a favor?
My father-in-law passed away last night. He had a combination of some long-term diseases (liver) and his death was expected, just not this soon. What I need is for everyone who reads this to please keep my extended family in your prayers. He and my mother-in-law were married over 29 years, and this has been especially tough on her. My wife and her sister are doing OK I suppose, but it still sucks, big time. That's all I need.... thanks guys, and gals.

I am standing upon the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!"
"Gone where?"
Gone from my sight. That is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment when someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!"
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: "Here she comes!"
And that is dying.

Thanks everyone. It's been especially hard on my wife and my mother in law. I am doing alright though. I'll cry later, I have things to take care of. Before he died, he called me in the room and made me promise to "take care of his girls" because he didn't think he would make it. I have to hold up my end of the bargain.
