A new direction for government

Despite the flip flopping back and forth of one or two members, the message that comes strongest from the media is that the November elecions clearly demonstrated a new direction for government...
So, here are their challenges -

The stock market is at a new all-time high and America 's 401K's are back.
A new direction from there means what?

Unemployment is at 25-year lows.
A new direction from there means what?

Oil prices are plummeting.
A new direction from there means what?

Taxes are at 20-year lows.
A new direction from there means what?

Federal tax revenues are at all-time highs.
A new direction from there means what?

The Federal deficit is down almost 50% (just as predicted) over last year.
A new direction from there means what?

Home valuations are up 200% over the past 3.5 years.
A new direction from there means what?

Inflation is in check, hovering at 20-year lows.
A new direction from there means what?

Not a single terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11/01.
A new direction from there means what?

Osama bin Laden is living under a rock in a dark cave, having not surfaced in years, if he's alive at all, while 95% of Al Queda's top dogs are either dead or in custody, cooperating with US Intel.
A new direction from there means what?

Several major terrorist attacks already thwarted by US and British Intel, includ ing the recent planned attack involving 10 Jumbo Jets being exploded in mid-air over major UScities in order to celebrate the anniversary of the 9/11/01attacks.
A new direction from there means what?

Just as President Bush foretold on a number of occasions, Iraq was to be made "ground zero" for the war on terrorism -- and just as President Bush said they would, terrorist cells from all over the region are arriving from the shadows of their hiding places and flooding into Iraq in order to get their faces blown off by US Marines rather than boarding planes and heading to the United States to wage war on us here.
A new direction from there means what?

Moreover, bear in mind that all of the above occurred in the face of the 1999 tech crash, the epidemic of corporate scandals throughout the 90's, and the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks on NYC years in the planning , which collectively sucked 24 trillions dollars and 7.8 million jobs out of the US economy even before G. W. Bush had time to unpack his suitcases in the White House. It's easy to attempt to discredit, disgrace and defame our commander in chief, George W. Bush; what's not so easy to do is to refute irrefutable facts, no matter how they might try.

But what good are $6.00 hr Wal-Mart jobs, you can make that much on welfare.
Oil prices are plummeting.

More like back to wear they should be if we didn't have a corrupt oil man for president.

well maybe if bill clinton hadn't let it be so easy for sh*tbags to get on welfare and be lazy turds, a $6 job would be very appealing. it ought to be harder to get on welfare, and regulated better, but if that were to happen, the homeless rate in america would sky rocket because big daddy bill let us grow fat and happy under his 8 years of lying under oath.

More like back to wear they should be if we didn't have a corrupt oil man for president.

president bush has NOTHING to do with the price per barrell of crude oil... OPEC is the only people that (wrongly) control the price of crude oil, not president bush or anyone in the US govt.

He's not my commander in cheif, he's just a dumb *** from Texas.

But he is my commander in chief

You're right,Opec does set the price of crude, but "W" has let the oil companies charge whatever the hell the want for a gallon of gas and post RECORD profits in the process.
But he is my commander in chief
Thats your fault,not mine.

And one other thing, when Clinton lied, he ruined a dress, When Bush lied, people died.

So I guess we need Bill Clinton to be re-elected so he can baby sit everyone again? Do you think it is right for the government to regulate things like that? I guess we live in the USSR now huh comrade?

I've given 5 years of service to the United States, and it IS the BEST country in the WORLD.

What has President Bush lied about? start listing things that are factual lies, and not something that you assume to be a lie. give me facts, not half assed opinions.

"Oil prices are plummeting.

Did he really say plummeting?
last time I checked...about 3 this afternoon...crude is around $62 per barrel. is that cheap? ummm, no. Yes it was in the 70s for a short time a few months ago, but what does a chart of the crude oil prices over the last 10 years look like? pretty sure it doesn't slope any direction but up overall. And no, the government does not set them; speculators and market forces do.

The disgraceful & disrespectful replies to this thread are the reason why the entire political process in the US is basically at a standstill. No one has anything constructive to say, they only know the other guy is wrong.

To clarify some points:

Calling the POTUS a "Dumb *** From Texas" is so far beyond disgraceful that any person who says such a thing should be ashamed of themself. You may not like him, but he is the leader of this nation. He has the single most difficult job in the world and should have at least some respect from every person in the country. You could be living in Sudan or North Korea.

The POTUS DOES NOT, I SAY AGAIN, DOES NOT have thing one to do with oil prices. If you think he does, you're an idiot and please take a bath with a hair drier at the earliest convienience so you can remove yourself from the gene pool.

Clinton sent troops to Bosnia, Somlia, etc & some troops died. Why doesn't anyone seem to have a problem with that. Ever see "Black Hawk Down"?

To this day, not a single person has been able to point to even a single instance where the POTUS lied, not one.

I could go on but I sense that no one will care. I'm no fan of the POTUS but he IS my & EVERYONE ELSE'S CINC. You may not like that fact but he is.

I never said a damn thing about Clinton, didn't like him either, he started N.A.F.T.A. And no, the morons in D.C. do not need to regulate everything, except when the there is obvious evidence of industry wide price fixing, then yes, the gov't needs to step in and regulate them.
I've given 5 years of service to the United States, and it IS the BEST country in the WORLD.
I agree, having been in other countries when I was doing my time for the gov't, I have seen first hand the way people in third world countries live (when I was sober enough to see it). Oh, and I was in when you were probably just a stain in daddy's boxers.

Well, for starters, where is the W.M.D.

Yea, some died, not 3,000. And Clinton pulled the troops out as soon as the job was done, he didn't keep them there just to line his own pockets like the idiot in the white house now is doing.
