Jeep Question

What is going to happen if i have a full size dana 44 up front, and the stock dana 35 in the rear? They both have 4.56's but the front is wider by 4-5 inches. Will i have tracking issues or will i grenade the t-case or what?

I would just get a dana 44 for the rear, those 35s are horrible, will snap any chance they get. The 44s are pretty easy to find too.

Super 35, hows that holding up. Never really heard any feedback on those. The front 30s are pretty tough though. Havent heard of really many breaks. I feel you on the driving part. I have a 92YJ w/ 327 sitting on 33s and its parked for the winter.

I have a chevy 44 up front, 4 banger ax5 with a dana 300 twin sticked. I had to buy a 21 spline input for the dana 300 so it would mate to the ax5. I went spring over with the 4" rubicon express leafs. The 44 is about 2 inches wider on either side and i dont know what will happen if i run it like that.

The super 35 kit is pretty stout. I bought the axle off my buddy who abused it quite often at the BADLANDS and local gravel pits. I would say it is stronger than the 8.8 that alot of people put in jeeps.

I could get spacers but running 35's with a 1.5' spacer is just asking for broken studs. Thanks for the idea though. Also thank you for the links.

Go to Jeepforum.com That is an awesome jeep website. Has as much info for jeeps as this website does for F150s. Set up similiar too. There is a bunch of competition rock crawlers on there that have tons of info.

Ford Econoline vans have a 3" or 4" (I cant remeber the actuall number) wider front axle than rear.

Atleast thats what the dealership told us at the church I use to go to. We had 2 of them and when following them it looked like it was tracking sideways. The one alwasy led on trips so that was the only one we noticed and had checked out. After a few trips to the dealership that was the explanation they gave....... IDK

Incorrect. I have not read a single post where studs have broken on a set of wheels spacers... as long as they are bell designed and built spacers. For spacers, Spidertrax is the only way to go. Maintains the hub-centric design... and can change bolt patters if you need.

The D35 is an ok axle, and better when built. I have the Rubi 44 hybrid axle, with alloy USA axle shafts and 1-ton drive shaft and running 35's. Even with the upgrades, I am still easy on the go fast pedal. 4:1 transfer case and 4:88 gears produces a lot of torque to the wheels, and have seen upgraded axle shafts snap if pushed to hard.

Up front, be sure and maintain your U-Joints. Alloy USA makes a nice new U-Joint, but I will be going with CTM joints before summer starts.
