Sounds A litle high for your area, unless it's imacculant condition.....

2 mins I found 2 with in 500 miles of orlando florida for $1000 or less....

1980 Ford Bronco - $1,000
Body Style: SUV
Transmission: Auto
'80 BRONCO Full size, 302, auto, many extras, flashing light bar. $1000obo 526-5896

1981 Ford Bronco - $1,000
Mileage: 179,000
Body Style: SUV
Engine: 351 CI V-8
Transmission: Auto
Drivetrain: 4WD

Ford Bronco XLT 1981 351 V8 Auto, 179k mi. 4X4, $1000 803-407-9109 lv msg

Likely if you offer $800 cash for either one there is a better than average chance that you could walk away with it.

Sounds like a great buy! At those prices, $1k in either direction can be determined by simple things, like interior quality, mods, engine/tranny type, tires, etc. I'd take a 78 with the 351 over an 80's 302 ANY DAY!! The 81 mentioned above might have potential if it's in similar condition. Good luck! Bronc's are really fun trucks.

The 80's Broncos are no comparison to the 1978/79 Broncos. The 1978 and 1979 Brocos are awesome!

The price doesn't sound bad to me.

The price of used vehicles is up across the board. I'd say that's a reasonable price. I'm looking for a late '90s Ranger for a project and everything I see is more than I want to pay. I think I need to look for a crasher or cooked motor.

I'd say if you like it, it's a decent buy.

Dude,

The 78,79 years are the ABSOLUTE BEST years of Broncos ever made. They have the strongest axles, and are the most bullet proof for four wheeling.

This leads me to a couple observations that you should pay close attention to.

First, is the frame straight? Because these years were beasts, people tend to treat them like that. Make sure that it hasn't seen the worst of trail time.

Second, make sure that the frame doesn't have a bunch of welding done or holes where it's been modded and re-modded over and over again.

If you have a virgin frame, and it's straight, then I would be willing to pay twice what he's asking for it just because of the potential it has.

Post pics if you can.

Seems like a fair price to me... as was previously mentioned, the 80+ Broncos aren't in the same league as the 78/79 in my opinion...

Here's my 78'. Obviously, my opinion is a bit biased.

I really need to get some new pics... I had it out yesterday for it's first wash since I've owned it. It needs some SERIOUS TLC from a paint perspective but, with only 67,800 on the ticker, she's got lots of life left.

Aren't the 78-79 straight axles, then the switched to the TTB? If so, there could be no doubt about getting the earlier one.

TTB is cickass unless yer goin over 6" or rock crawlin'.

That bein' said i'd take a '79 to have all the fullsize body styles. The 351m is a purdy good motor. I'd prefer a 400.

TTB is fine for high speed work, but there's nothing like live axles for Rocks, mud, or trails!
