I don't know if you've seen the Shelby V6 Mustang, but it's got like 500+ hp, I wouldn't mind that at all. It'd be fun to mess with people and laugh at them when they got spanked by a V6.
There is NO V6 Shelby Mustang with 500+ hp, that is a 4.6 (V8 GT motor) with a blower on it.

I drove a V6 and will admit they are not bad at all, I drove a V8 with an auto and it wasn't to bad, better then the V6, then I drove the V8 with stick, if you want a really, really fun car to drive that has some serious nut you want the V8 with stick, night and day from a V6, at least for the newer 05's and up...

Even if the HP may be similar, but the V8 has the 6 beat in the torque dept.

No, I promise you Shelby has built a V6 2005+ Mustang. I don't think it was for sale but I remember reading an article on the car. The whole point of the project was the jist of this thread, doing something out of the box, and suprising the hell out of people when they got beat by a 'chick' car.

Yup, forgot to mention that car also has the 5-speed manual.

I've got to drive a 2006 Mustang GT with the manual on a SCCA course and it was a fun car to drive. It did surpisingly well through the solumn for a stock car, stayed pretty flat.

There is however an aftermarket kit offered by Shelby to bring the V6 up to 350+ HP, or you can possibly order the Shelby built CS6 with the 350+ already loaded up for you.

No, it's not like the blown 4.6, but then that too is going out the window for the return of the "boss" 5.0 next year. Then everybody can dis the 4.6 like they do the V6 now.

For entertainment, cost, and insurance reasons, I'd still be good with the V6.

1969Mach, I think you're right. The article I saw was actually closer to around 400rwhp in that specific car but talked about the 350rwhp kit. Regardless, it'd still be a BAD *** ride.

Exactly why she went with the V6, otherwise it would of been a GT.

There is no V6 shelby...and there is no 4.6l Shelby.....The Shelby GT500 is a 5.4L 32V supercharged engine producing 500hp. That is the only mustang that produces the 500hp. They are coming out w/ a GT500KR w/ 540hp but that is going to be a very rare mustang package. "ony 1000" There is a hertz shelby version which has 325hp which is just an upgrade of the GT.

As much as I dont like Mustangs, or V6 Stangs for that matter, I think I would take the newer V6 in this case. Just the thought of blowing someones doors off and showing them you just have a v6 with some bolt on mods is cool. People associate a GT with going fast, so not much suprise to them really if they get beat. And if you get beat, imagine the embaresmment "You have a mustang...GT...and I just blew your doors off!"

And as said, insurance and what not will be more affordable.

My buddy has a newer one with the v6...suprised the hell out of me how quick they were.

damn you read my mind, its our 5.4L but with 4v and and an aluminum block and direct injected i think

they also thought about putting the rumored 6.2L boss in it, would make a lot of sense in a Boss mustang if you ask me

Would be really nice to have a 6.2 Boss, it doesn't make a lot of sense that they would go backwards in technology to a 5.0...Unless, of course, this is an entirely new 5.0 that's a modular design...Regardless, those Shelbys are super-bad...A dealership near me has some of them, and I love the way they look, haven't got to drive one, though, but I have driven an 05 GT, it was really nice...
But to the original point of the thread, I'd take the GT. Whether it's faster or not, for nothing more than nostalgia purposes, I'd take the GT.

There is no Shelby Mustang V6 with 500 hp! Put the crack pipe down.

Edit, there is a Shelby Mustang V6 concept with a supercharged V6 putting 350 hp.

My buddy's 2005 V6 Mustang with exhaust is almost dead even with my truck, and I know my truck isn't a race car, but it's pretty quick. Sure sucks to say you have a V6 'stang though, heh.

I love sleeper cars though. Buick stomped alot of V8s with that Grand National in the 80s, and it's fun when you drive a blown V6 and stomp the **** out of the GT. I'll never forget the first night that my Mach got it's doors blown off by that Buick. Not even close. I killed alot of Camaros, Chevelles, Vettes, but that Buick left me like I was standing still.

Ultimately, the V8 will give you more when modded equally to a V6, but you don't get the same look of unbelief when you raise the hood and show the loser what beat him.
I'm still stomping V8s w my little V6s.There is a lot more technology out now then there was back in the day.Alcohol injection w/25 psi of boost, woo hoo.Best mod ever.

Trust me the "cammer" 5.0 ford racing engine that produces 400hp that goes in the new BOSS cars is not going back in technology. The funny thing is that the engine is tuned down in the BOSS. It can easily push 500hp N/A.

I like how everyone thinks they know everything. . . sorry.

I was wrong on the hp numbers but regardless the picture that 1969Mach posted is of the V6 Shelby. I never once said it was a production car which everyone here is referring to production Shelby cars.

When is comes to cars, especially muscle cars I do know a lot of information That V6 shelby w/ only 350hp is still gonna be slow as crap compared to muscle cars...the new mustangs weigh a crap load which is killing them. The new shelby's are only running mid to high 12's at the track"even low 13's". thats not very fast when you look at the LS1 powered camaro's and TA's that run in the 13's stock. Then new GT's are in the 14's So that means the Shelby V6 would probably be in the low 14's or high 13's which is still not that fast Just get a 03-04 cobra.....forged internals and just add a kenne bell and your looking around 600rwhp.
