I hate blown tires.

So yesterday I was driving back from my girlfriends and was on the highway when my front right tire blew out, in a very hardcore manner. I was going about 70 when it happened, and as soon as it happened I looked in my mirror and saw huge pieces of tire hitting other cars, as well as the front end diving on every car behind me. I pulled over to fix it, and the spare tire was stuck. I was yanking on it, and when it gave way I wasn't expecting it and it fell on me, and pulled the absolute **** out of my back. I couldn't move for about 5 minutes so I just laid there on the side of the freeway until I could pull myself to the side a bit. I counted 6 cops that passed and non stopped (not really surprising, but still).

Here in Houston we have a clearsafe system, which consists of cameras monitoring the freeways to the dispatch wreckers to get people off the freeway. The tow was free, but they dont change your tire for you, or even carry jacks. The stock jack wasn't big enough to jack up the truck high enough to put on the giant *** mudding tire (I dont know why the spare is so huge), so he had to lift up my front end with his hydraulic life, but my back was pulled so bad I couldn't even lift the tire or turn the wrench, so the dude ended up doing everything. I paid him $20 cause he was nice about it.

So I went to the orthopaedic surgeon today and had some therapy done and I cant go back to school or work for the rest of the week, which really sucks cause Im already broke and cant afford to take a week off, and I have 3 tests next week over the lectures from this week. and now I need new tires.

That sucks man,

The spare is something alot of people never think about. Do yourself a favor and drop that spare every spring and make sure everything is loose and not rusted and seized to ****.

Awww man bad day.

All those stupid stock jacks are sittin' in a box somewhere in the garage. And at least have a 4000lb version of this in every truck. Diesel has a 8000lb jack.

Also real lug wrenchs and breaker bars to makin changin a tire a non event right quick.

Last year down in philly me and my buddy Joe were idlin along in traffic and saw two hot chicks stranded in their escort with a flat and no idea how to change it. Turns out they were sittin two hours due to a lack of a jack and a rounded off lugnut that someone who tried to help goobered up.

When they took the picture of Joe and me, I asked why and they said so they could put it in their myspace blog.

"Hey, I got a myspace, search adrianspeeder and add me."

Havin' the right tools got that job done in 10mins no problem.
