Way too long, dude. I'm a dumbass, and I would have thrown that letter in the trash after about the first half paragraph.

No, it should be "my wife" not "the wife".

Thanks fella's.

That has been scrapped.

I'm starting over from scratch, and going to print and send via US Postal mail.

I had a feeling I was putting too much "crap" in the message, and that's why I asked you guys.

That's the plan.

Come to think of it, the only people I knew who liked Tony Stewart were the owners of the company I use to work at. They had absolutely no ethics and as I have explained before, most certaily creatures from hell.

hows this for a rough draft?

a bit wordy (and i didnt check for spelling, i also have a personal vandetta against captial letters that is not shared by all)

to whom it may concern.

i want to preface this letter by stating that i am a long time home depot
customer. though other retailers are out there, i have always had a positive
buying experience in any home depot i have ever visited, and i have never felt
the need to 'leave the fold' for any reason.

with that being said, i would like to make you aware of my most recent home
depot purchase . after being assisted by one of the appliance departments
sales reps, i decided to buy the (model) refrigerator. it was a little more than we intended to spend, but it had everything we were looking for in a new model. upon further conversation with the salesperson, we were told that they would not deliver to our area, which made our decision all the more difficult.

i was apprehensive about getting it home on my own, but judging from past
purchases with home depot, i knew yours was the company that i wanted to
continue to deal with, so we made the purchase anyway (including an extended service warranty).

i was able to find an employee to assit me in getting it loaded into the bed of a
pickup truck for the ride home. i strapped the unit in tight against the cab with two 10,000 pound rated straps.

as fate would have it, traveling on the highway, i hit a bump in the road, and
the refrigerator was dumped from the truck, totally destroying it. luckily no one was hurt and i didnt cause any accidents. then the reality set in. this was a brand new fridge that i never even got into my kitchen, and it was destroyed. what made it worse was that i could not even get home depot to
deliver it to me as i was told i was outside their normal delivery range (40
miles). we made our purchase anyway, staying loyal to a company that we
shopped frequently, and had never done us wrong before.

now i am strongly reconsidering that mentality.

i understand that lowes would have delivered to me, and if i had purchased
from them, i would not be in this situation i am right now.

as bad as this all is, the worst of the experience was when i contacted the
home depot in (where-ever texas). i made an apointment with (store managers name) to go back and discuss this with him, but when i arrived (on time) he had already left for the day. i was also told by another home depot employee to 'enjoy my new fridge' after relaying all this information to them.

i never expected to be treated so poorly by a retailer in my life, especially
one i have shopped at so often. considering there are plenty of other
retailers for me to get my new refrigerator from, i am suprised that the folks
at hope depot would act in this manner.

You need to include names Jamz. Even include the Store Manager's Name, first and last. It shows you've done your homework and are serious about taking this further than a letter---without actually saying so. As an area manager in retail, the last thing I want is a tarnished brand image. Home Depot, as well as any other retailer, is a Brand. You choose their brand by shopping there, but you could have easily chosen another. With new home prices plummeting, and fewer people dumping money into their homes, Home Depot has no room to lose their customer base. ---They are aware of this and it does not need pointing out--- You may want to try asking for the moon, but settle for a new fridge at cost delivered to your door. If their customer is really #1, they will go the extra mile.

PS-- Home Dope Managers Make Bank!!!! Don't let him/her swindle you into believing this is coming out of his pocket. Because their pockets are deep.
