I'll donate 5 to the jamz fridge fund.
That was worth $5 of smiles.

Home Depot is not responsible for this. Why should they have to pay for someone elses mishap?

I feel sorry for Jamz, but this is definitely not HD's responsibility.

Hopefully his credit card or insurance will have some means to help get a new fridge. If not, maybe everyone in this thread can chip in and let Jamzy get a new fridge delivered to his door.

Better come up with a story like this, and have a strap broken/worn, or (the ratcheting mechanism realeased) for the insurance to kick in. I doubt that they will pay for an UNSECURED Loaded truck. Insurance company's used to pay anything we dumbasses did, but they are getting real picky now...

I don't have time to answer all of your questions, but I'll try..

We "purchased" it on my Home Depot card (cut it up).

I used the same straps that Matt posted, except mine are blue. Matt's post

The strap "slipped Loose", when I hit the bump, and it happened so fast, all I could do was cry while seeing it "explode" on the highway. Thank GOD no one was behind me.

.....man, so many questions to answer.

I'll answer a few more as time becomes available.

Thanks for the sig Kobi.

....does it make me an attention *****?

I'm gonna take it up to Home Depot after work today so the manager of the store can see it. They wont be able to replace it, but they will give me a discount. At this point, I'll take anything.

I'm also gonna drag it out of the truck this evening, try to put it back together (with bailing wire and duct tape), and see if I can at least use it in the garage for drinks and what not.

If it doesn't work, I can always get a few bucks for the compressor.

Judging from the final results of this whole debacle, I'd say the Home Depot employees weren't the only "assclowns" involved with the deal.......

Hey -- maybe you can make some money by "parting it out" like an old Torino?!

Hang in there, dude -- life sucks sometimes!
