Life with Dodge...
First off, I'm going to offend the die hard blue Oval guys and gals, ( no mention of blue ***** !!!! ) Hell I used to own nothing But Fords ( F-150 ) and in the past I admit to puashing the buttons of the loyalist crowd.
I have one year under my built with my 06 2500 with the infamous Hemi 5.7 and I also had a lot of seat time with a used 05 F-150 4.6 that became my work truck until the transmission went ( over 300,00 km on the 4.6 )
My last Ford was a 04 F-150 reg cab 5.4 3v and I'm glad it's gone. The 05 F-150 was a great truck, I'm still fealing ripped off knowing two F-150's can roll of the line, one being a 100% perfect and the one before or after less than 50%.
Yes, that's life, now on to my truck.
the Ford 5.43v is a tower, more torque and rpm lower in the rev band, the 5.7 hemi is a power house in the upper Rpm but my hot rod chrysler buddies admit the crank in the 5.7 is maxed out, so with Dodge you get more out of the box but have less to play with.
My 06 Ram has been 100% perfect with mecanical and suspension, thier are ton of minor issues I have with my truck, it is cheaply built, The paint quality is **** poor and Dodge needs to improve thier fit and finsh.
I have no regrets going to Dodge, to date my truck has not had any warenty issues, Perhaps a simply built, less complicating pick up with poor paint and a ton less refignment is better than a highly advanced over egineard truck that is ofton not put togethier right.
Yes the automatics with Dodge have a lousy reputation, but you get an extra gear in the automtic vers Fords 4, I went to a 6sp manual with my truck.
Not all the Rams are a 100% perfect, what ever brand your loyal to, they are a huge hit and miss monthly payment.
Best of luck to you all... Life here on the dark side is not all bad...It's kinda fun !!!!

They are crap unless you get one with a factory tow package so you get the larger trans cooler or get a diesel.
I like the looks of the older dodges, (94-0?) The newest I'm not that wild about. Although my brother in law got a Big Horn a few months ago and that is sort of a sexy machine.
I am keeping my eye open for a great deal on somethign bigger hopefully can get newer too. They are not out of the question if one comes along for a good price but I'll pay more for another Ford even if it is a couple years older than waht I could get a newer dodge for.
