New Spyder

Hi All,
I just plunked down some cash to reserve a Can-Am Spyder for the wife.

When I told her about it. She squealed like a teenager at a rock concert.

Checkout the link and let me know what you think.

I sure hope the bike itself isn't as slow as their web site . . . .

Didn't anyone ever tell them a trike is 2 wheels in back?????

Actually, it makes a ton of sense - saves on kickstands sinking into blacktop too!

How soon do you get it?

I will probably get it September/October. There is no definite date set. I will talking directly with the factory guys on Monday. I have a scheduled ride appointment with them on Monday.

It should be fun.

A quick web search and people are claiming 0-60 ranges from 4.5 secs to 6 seconds. The company says it will top out at 110 mph and averages 30-35 mpg.

106 hp moving 697 lbs, and geared for a top speed of onlly 110 mph at 8500 rpm.... Id say 4.5 sec is slightly conservative.

The performance and fuel efficiency seem bad, at best. My Focus gets that mileage and weighs 4+ times as much

Since no one owns one yet it's all pretty speculative.

But your right it should reach closer to 50-60 mpg. IMHO

Ironically, BRP stands for Bombardier Recreational Products.
Bombardier Started by making the worlds first tracked snowmobile, that was later named the B7.
