Why does it take so long to rev up, it is in neutral right? Did you put a dodge engine in it?
Why is it so high pitched?
Sounds like a girl car......
Just razzing, it is reving slow for a GM engine, they have a short throw, a stock GM SB, just a quick blip of the throttle in neutral should hit 6K before you can let off. Even faster when built right.

Hopefully it starts with a bump of the key, if not then stop and find out why.
If it doesnt start with in 30 second of cranking, I pull the cam and reapply lube.
Start the engine and increase the RPM's to 2000-2200. Operate the engine for 15-20 minutes at this speed. The higher speeds increase splash lubrication and decrease nose loading. Vary the speed every minute or so bump the throttle to 3000-3400 for a second.
30 minutes and cam is broke in, your ready to race!!!!

Yes sir. Even though I was not able to do that exactly as described, its still has seen a fair amount of break-in. The Rotella T is still see-through clean. Gotta fire it up a few more times, change oil and reinstall my inner valve springs and I'm good to go. Gotta put a few 4.6's and LS1's to shame right away, build up my titles quick.
