Why Shouldnt I move to Austin?

Seriously, with all the Crap around Baton Rouge lately I've been considering skippin town for good. I've Vacationed with relatives in Austin and the City seems really cool. There is always something happening downtown and I never felt as If I should have been Packin a .45

Here, I wont go to any free public gatherings as its just not safe anymore. This place seems to be going down the tubes. We've got the mayor and police chief on tv as if they are Wyatt Earp and his fellow Marshalls.

Can anyone seriously tell me why I shouldnt move?

Well, for one thing you won't be able to rob your local liquor store in Austin. Those crazy Texans will shoot your ****. The free-for-all in Baton Rouge means free beer and groceries for at least another year!

I've been here for a little over two years now and love it, great city. Tons of nice places to live from million dollar places on the lake to affordable new housing out east.

If I didn't love Phoenix so much I would move to Austin in a heartbeat! If I were loaded I would have a second home there for sure, somewhere around Johnson City.
Austin has lots of technology jobs and lots of room for growth...I say go for it!

That move would be a no-brainer....

Louisiana is such an f-ed-up mess I can't understand why anyone who has the slightest amount of ambition even remains there. What a freaking disaster of a welfare state....

Don't get me started, I don't want to get banned. I will agree however that the majority of Baton Rouge, and all of New Orleans is now worthless. I think it was last week there were 6 homicides in Baton Rouge alone. It used to be as simple as avoiding certain areas of town but its starting to spread like a hookers legs. I plan on staying in Louisiana as long as I can do so without fearing for my life. I wont buy a house in the city though, I want to live in the middle of no wheres.

Austin's a great place to live

If you're looking to actually be in the city limits just be prepared for the sticker-shock of housing and taxes

Oh, and the bums everywhere..

Been here (or Round Rock) since '83 and wouldn't live anywhere else!

I can tell you why Austin is a bad choice. First of all, theres that disgusting college with the puke orange colors. Next, that place is filled with liberals. My old government professor always said that place is the most liberal place on this side of Boulder, which is definately a bad thing. I know I wouldnt be able to stand all the trash that the liberals spew.

Well those are the reasons I think you should move to Austin. Its the best of what a liberal city has to offer. I wouldnt live anywhere else (been here since '83')

"There are two types of Texans...those who live in Austin and those who want to."

Whatever you pay for a house here will be worth twice as much in five years.

BTW
We lost a state and national treasure yesterday...if you love our national parks or have ever admired the beauty of our highways throughout this great land you must have some appreciation for Lady Bird Johnson.

I don't live there but I have a niece in Roundrock so I've spent some time there. I've been trying to find a way to get some food from Saltgrass sent to me. I love that place. If I were to move to Texas the Austin area would be the place.

Gotta agree about it being a liberal city, and the local politicians are as crooked as you'll find anywhere and the police shoot first and make excuses later.

On the other hand, there's no place like it, the hill country, the lakes, 6th Street.

And yes, Rest In Peace Lady Bird
