Pics of my Saltwater fish tank

Sweeeeeeeet. Bow fronts are freakin niiiiice
How many gallons? 55?
I took my 55GAL (fresh water) tank down when my daughter was born. She sorda invaded "Daddies room". I built the stand and lid myself.
I had that tank setup really nice. It was all 100% natural, a perfect eco system. No chemicals, no fake plants, and very, VERY well cared for. I loved that tank, and I loved the fish that were in it. Live plants in a fresh water tank make a hellova difference.
Everytime people would come over to visit and walk by the game room, they would stop and look. The fresh water shrimp is what tripped people out the most.
Here are a few pictures of the tank just after it cycled. The plants in the back had pretty much covered the back part of the tank when I took it down. My African Butterfly fish loved those plants too.
This is my pl3co. He had a spiral on his belly, and would eat right from my hand. He lived a long time, and got pretty close to 12" long before he passed. Awesome fishy. After he did, I went through a phase...I was bummed. I know that might sound silly, but he was a cool fish.
I have some more at home of the tank when she was all grown up, and it was an amazing tank. It's an addiction. I cant wait till I have room to build another one. I think the next one I build will be in the wall seperating 2 rooms.

I couldn't see the shrimp, are they in there somewhere?

Damn typos. fixed it...good catch
Not at that point. The pl3co and a couple of gold fish was all I had. It had just finsihed with it's cycle and was safe to add fish. I added the feeder gold fish first, just to make sure.
[EDIT]....I also had 4 otto cats, but they are tiny too, but they do an awesome job at keeping the tank clean.
The shrimp were really hard to see.

Sweet! I used to have a nice 55gal salt tank, but the electricity out where we were got so spotty that I eventually lost everything, because I couldn't maintain temp...
My brother-in-law recently built a 200gal tank into their living room wall. He says he'll help me get another one going, but I may just go back to fresh water if I try again...

Nice tank Jamz! Fresh water is pretty cool especially when you have live plants. But saltwater is just on a whole other level. EVERYTHING from the rock to the fish is alive in my tank. The rock has all kinds of little organisms on it and bacteria and algeas that keep the tank clean. I also have lots of little hermit crabs and creatures that come out at night. And the coral is another plus with saltwater. I am going to get some cleaner shrimp. They actually set up a station and clean parasites off the fish. They will also come up to your hand and pick the dead skin off your hand when ou stick it in the tank. I have had many tanks. I have had a 55gal, 5gal, 10gal, 125gal, and a few more that I cant remember. I actually got this 46 gallon bow front for free! Someone left it in my building when they moved out. It didnt have anything in it but the manager of the building asked if anyone wanted it and I took it.

200 GAL? OMG, that must be freakin SWEET!
I'd like to see pics if possible.
IMO, fresh water tanks are cheaper and more fun. Salt tanks are a lot more pretty though. A 200 GAL fresh water tank would be perfect. I'd build it to match the natural wildlife of East Texas...Bass, Catfish, Blue gill, etc.
See.....I wanna put my tank back together.

Thanks.
Nothing better than a free tank...well, except free beer.

Good looking tank Dave!
I'm a newbie myself, but my best friend is really into nano-reefing so I have been learning about it through him. I eventually am going to get a small tank (20 gal) and run it mostly yo house a Pea**** Mantis Shrimp, but I also plan on building a custom plexi barrier in the front for a clam garden that is out of reach from the Pea****. I can't wait to do it
